Privacy Policy

This policy explains what GameClip collects, why, and what happens to it. Questions: support@gameclip.io.

On your computer

GameClip edits your videos on your own computer. Your recordings, your audio, your projects and your exports stay there. Captions are transcribed on your computer with a local speech model. Highlight detection runs on your computer.

Your account

When you buy, Stripe collects your email, name, billing address and payment details. We receive your email, your Stripe customer id and what you bought; we never see your full card number. We store your email encrypted and use it to send your licence key, password links, receipts and important notices about your purchase. We don’t send marketing email.

If you sign in with Google, Google sends us your name, your email address (and whether Google has verified it) and your Google account id. We use them only to sign you in and to create or find your account: the account id links your Google sign-in to your account, and we never post anything, read your Google data or contact your Google contacts. We keep the email (encrypted) and the Google account id with your account; we don’t store your name. You can stop using Google sign-in at any time by adding a password in your account, and ask us to remove the link to your Google account.

Licence checks

When the app activates or checks your key it sends the key, a machine id generated by the app, the computer’s name, its operating system and processor type, and the app version. We use them to bind the key to one computer, show that computer in your account and stop shared keys. We keep the last check time.

AI Director

Only when you run AI Director, the app sends us the transcript text of the candidate moments, a few low-resolution frames (320p JPEG) sampled around them, their timings and local scores, the genre and the language. We pass them to Anthropic (Claude) to pick, rank and title highlights, and send the answer back to the app. We keep the answer (the picks, timings, titles, hooks and descriptions) with your key, so a retry within 24 hours doesn’t charge you twice, plus the number of credits and tokens used. We don’t keep the transcript or the frames, and we don’t use them to train models. Anthropic processes them under its commercial terms, which do not allow training on API data. Your audio never leaves your computer.

The website

The site uses a session cookie only when you sign in to your account, and a small cookie that tells the page header you are signed in. We use cookieless, privacy-friendly analytics to count page views and button clicks; it stores no personal data. Download counts store a one-way hash of your IP address, browser and the day, never the IP itself. Messages you send with the contact form are stored encrypted and emailed to us.

Who processes your data

Stripe (payments, invoices, tax), Mailgun (email), Google (only if you sign in with Google), Anthropic (AI Director analysis), and our hosting provider. Each only gets what it needs for its job.

How long we keep it

Account and purchase records are kept as long as your account exists and as long as tax law requires. Licence check details are replaced on each check. AI Director answers are deleted after 24 hours of use for retries; the job record (credits, token counts, no content) is kept for billing questions.

Your rights

You can ask for a copy of your data, a correction, or deletion of your account at any time by emailing support@gameclip.io. Deleting your account revokes your keys. If you are in the EU, UK or a US state with privacy laws, you also have the rights those laws give you, including the right to complain to your data protection authority.

Changes

If this policy changes, we will update the date at the top and, for important changes, email account holders.
